A ‘brainstorming' event concerning the future of Mediation in Belgium will be taking place on Thursday, 27 of June, 2013 at the Palace of Justice, Salle des Audiences Solenelles, Plechtige Zittingszaal Room 1.35, Place Poelaert Plein, Brussels , from 1.45 to 5.00pm
This will be a great opportunity for all stakeholders to gather, examine the state of play (status quaestionis) and discuss, the current challenges, any pitfalls and whether there is a need to reform existing Belgian mediation rules and practice. All participants will be able to express their views in three working languages: English, Dutch and French.
The event will start with speeches from British and Dutch mediation practitioners giving an overview of the initiatives that have been taken in their jurisdictions. This will provide the foundation on which the group can reflect openly on the extent to which such initiatives could or should be duplicated, or improved upon, in the Belgian rules and practice on mediation.
The event will be moderated by Mr. Ivan Verougstraete, Mr. Willem Meuwissen, Mr. Benoit Simpelaere and Mr. Philippe Billiet. Please download the invitation, registration form and time schedule here.
You can register via the registration form that you will find via this link.
We look forward to seeing you on the 27th of June!
